Michael Cohen Testimony

Michael Cohen Testimony

The hearing was nothing more than a circus put on by Michael Cohen and House Democrats that was jam-packed with
uncorroborated evidence and lies.  Cohen admitted he had met with Democrats Adam Schiff and Elijah Cummings and their respective staffs before his testimony. He even admitted to preparing for the testimony with fame seeker Adam Schiff.
Cohen’s attorney is Lanny Davis, a longtime Democrat and Clinton ally.
Michael Cohen is a disgraced, convicted felon. He is going to prison for, among other things, previously lying under oath to Congress and no one should believe a word he says.
Key takeaways from the hearing:
Cohen was forced to admit that he – and his attorney – could have refuted the allegations in the BuzzFeed story which falsely accused President Trump of directing Cohen to lie to Congress.  Cohen admitted he secretly recorded many individuals without their knowledge or consent – this includes secretly recording President Trump.  He acknowledged that he failed to document his contracts with foreign entities and did not provide the proper documents to the Committee in advance of the hearing.
Cohen’s claim he did not want a job in the White House was completely inconsistent with those who know him and mainstream media reporting.
Cohen lied when he claimed Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was “his idea.”  Cohen falsely claimed he changed his behavior and started telling the truth about President Trump when he saw the “daily destruction of our civility,” but the Southern District of New York reportedCohen only reached out to the Special Counsel’s office to cooperate “when he knew he was under imminent threat of indictment” for his own crimes.
Cohen cited several uncorroborated allegations against President Trump.
Cohen refused to rule out future book deals and movie deals, signaling that if it wasn’t obvious already, Michael Cohen is clearly planning to use his lies for his own personal profit.
The invitation by Democrats for Michael Cohen to appear before Congress was nothing more than an attempt to distract from the monumental achievements of President Trump’s administration and his historic Vietnam summit.  When asked about the testimony, Dianne Feinstein – the TOP DEMOCRAT on the Senate Judiciary Committee – said Cohen clearly “has a credibility problem.” Everyone knows he is a liar.
Finally, Cohen admitted he has no evidence of collusion between President Trump and Russia, confirming what we already knew

it is worth remembering that Mr. Trump has not, in fact, been found guilty of any crime, something that cannot be said about his former lawyer.
So what does Cohen have to lose by making up stuff?
(NYT) Whatever you think about Donald Trump, Michael Cohen simply is not an honest person. The idea that he suddenly becomes one as soon as he has something bad to say about the president is far-fetched, to say the least.
The hearing was sleaze for the sake of pure partisan pleasure, not a serious attempt at uncovering lawbreaking.
Cohen Statement: “So to be clear, Mr. Trump knew of and directed the Trump-Moscow negotiations throughout the campaign and lied about it,” Cohen said
Fact:  Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators states that Cohen lied to Congress at least three separate times about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow with Trump’s name prominently featured on top.
Cohen Statement: Mr. Cohen had inferred, however, that Mr. Trump wanted him to lie.
Fact:  Mr. Cohen testified that he was never explicitly ordered by Mr. Trump to lie to Congress.  Cohen’s claims about coded signals from President Trump indicating that he should lie to Congress fall short of the probative value of a stained blue dress.
