Study finds only half of students felt they were learning during lockdown

Student Survey: Despite High Numbers Saying Their Schools Were Assigning Work and They Were Completing it, Only Half Said They Were Really Learning During Pandemic

Students didn’t learn much after their schools shut down for the coronavirus, despite a relatively positive experience with school logistics, like getting access to assignments and being able to complete their work, a new survey of American students shows.
Just 39 percent of students in grades 5 through 12 reported that they “learned a lot almost every day” during the shutdown, and about half said their teachers gave them assignments that helped them learn, according to the survey conducted by the nonprofit YouthTruth.
That compares with around 60 percent of students who said the same during a previous semester of traditional classes, said Jen Wilka, YouthTruth’s executive director.
At the same time, most students reported that the mechanics of online education went pretty well, with 92 percent saying schools were assigning work and almost 80 percent reporting they could complete and submit it.

That is the “best-case scenario,” though, Wilka said, because the survey was conducted online and likely missed some students who did not have the technology or internet connection they needed. Still, Wilka sees the results as an indication that schools should shift their focus to academics.
“Understandably in this moment of crisis response, there’s been a lot of focus on access to devices, access to technology, access to food — and that all makes sense, for the spring and this moment — but we need to be able to move beyond that in the fall so that we can get to a place of learning,” she said. “It’ll be different and it will need to adapt and change, but essentially we heard from students that school logistics were actually working relatively well, teachers did a good job working with what they had, and yet only half of students felt like they were really learning.”
YouthTruth conducted the survey online in English and Spanish in May and June. More than 20,000 students from 166 public schools across nine states responded.
One of them, Arleth Teran, a rising eighth-grader at Chicago’s CICS West Belden, a charter school in the Distinctive Schools network, said the past few months of school were challenging“It has been kind of difficult because I’ve been sort of stressed out, because I don’t get to see my teachers one-on-one. And it’s kind of hard since I have a lot of siblings around the house,” said Teran, who has two brothers, a sister and a dog, who all occasionally distract her. “It’s hard to focus sometimes, but I was able to focus and finish the curriculum and pass [all my classes], and I didn’t get into summer school, which was good.”
Teran, 13, said she was able to connect with her teachers and felt as if they were helping her do her best despite the circumstances. Still, being able to complete the anonymous survey allows students to “give an honest opinion” about school without having to worry about their teachers knowing how they felt individually, she told The 74. Teachers need to understand students’ environments at home and how stressed they are as they plan for next year, she added.

Relationships with teachers were a bright spot nationally, with students reporting that their connections were a little better than usual during the shutdown and 61 percent saying their teachers are available to provide extra help.
The survey data has been “integral” to planning for next year, said Michael McCarthy, executive director of student services at Distinctive Schools, the network Teran attends. Like Teran, most Distinctive students reported their teachers were available when they needed help but responses also showed they were facing more obstacles to learning at home than the average student nationally. To address that, McCarthy said educators will receive training to help them talk about issues like health and safety with students. The network used the student feedback to inform its end-of-year meetings with school leaders and will also incorporate the findings into new teacher training this summer, he said.
“I just wonder how much as a country we’re listening to the kids as we’re battling this out politically and everything,” he told The 74. “We’re all in it together as teachers and leaders and support staff, but kids and families — that voice is so, so, so important, and this is the only way that we’ve been able to surface their experiences” aside from students sharing individual stories in class.
Distinctive Schools is a network of nine mostly K-8 schools in Chicago and Detroit serving primarily low-income students of color.

Nationally, 64 percent of students said distractions at home made it difficult to complete schoolwork. (YouthTruth)

Some other findings from the national YouthTruth report:
  • 1 in 5 high school seniors reported that their post-secondary plans changed because of the pandemic. (Other studies have found declining applications for financial aid, an indication that students may be rethinking plans for higher education.)
  • 64 percent of students overall reported experiencing distractions at home that interfered with schoolwork, and half said feelings of stress, depression and anxiety made online learning difficult.
  • Female students and those who identify another way were more likely to report depression, stress and anxiety as obstacles to learning than male students.
  • Black and Latino students reported facing more obstacles to learning at home than white and Asian students.
  • On most questions, urban schools outperformed both suburban and rural schools. However, students in rural schools were likelier to say they are getting more exercise and spending more time outside than usual.
  • About 30 percent of students surveyed said they feel connected to their school communities.

YouthTruth’s Wilka said educators and leaders should take this information into account when planning for next year.
“None of us adults as students experienced a time like this, so I really hope that this data helps to incite some curiosity about how are our students experiencing this time, and how can we be listening to them and making decisions right now,” she said.  School systems that participated in the survey received system-level data so they could analyze their own results, and they could purchase access to more granular school-level data.
The YouthTruth findings match those of other student surveys. A survey by Common Sense Media found that 42 percent of participating teens were feeling “more lonely than usual,” and America’s Promise Alliance reports that “more than half of young people (52 percent) are much more concerned than usual about their own and their family’s physical and emotional health.” Recent surveys of educators reveal that many of those teaching in low-income schools spent most of the shutdown reviewing past lessons and experienced high levels of stress.

“MAGA” Evidence of “White Supremacy”

American Liberty Report
U.S. Army Declares “MAGA” Evidence of “White Supremacy”

Imagine if, during the Civil War, a Union officer sent out a flyer to all the troops (that being pre-internet days) declaring the Confederacy to be a wonderful success. “Slavery is a great model to run an economy! The Confederacy will last a thousand years!” the fictitious flyer declared. President Lincoln likely would have had the officer who sent out that flyer tried and hanged for treason. Which is why the US Army is lucky that President Donald Trump is not the authoritarian the left always claims he is. Get a load of this story.
Something called the US Army Equity & Inclusion Agency just sent out a mass email to thousands of US Army enlisted members and civilian contractors. The message contained a PowerPoint graphic with a list of terms that are considered “Convert White Supremacy.” They meant to write “COVERT White Supremacy,” but apparently the little girls running the Army Equity & Inclusion Agency are as good at spelling as they probably are at fighting.
The phrase “Make America Great Again” is on the US Army list of “Covert White Supremacy” examples in America. “Celebrating Columbus Day as a holiday,” wearing certain Halloween costumes, believing that English should be America’s national language, and stating “All Lives Matter” are also examples of “Covert White Supremacy” in America.  The graphic also lists “Eurocentric Beauty Standards” as white supremacy. That’s a polite way of saying that if you think that the walking SJW parade float Stacey Abrams is physically unattractive, you’re a racist.
The US Army is now backpedaling and claiming the email was sent by mistake. Which is curious, since the graphic was originally created in 2005 by a group called the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence. The graphic was revamped and re-copyrighted in 2019, presumably to add “Make America Great Again” to the list of covert white supremacy stuff.
Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) is outraged that the email was sent and he’s calling for a full investigation under the Hatch Act. That’s the act that bars federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities. That’s a no-no whether you work at the US Army or the IRS or the Department of Agriculture.  Brooks is calling for the person who authorized the email to be fired. That’s all well and good, but I’m angrier that something called the US Army Equity & Inclusion Agency exists in the first place. It’s obviously something that was invented by noted military strategist and warfighting expert Valerie Jarrett on behalf of Obama.
The existence of the Army Equity & Inclusion Agency is about as nakedly partisan as the military suddenly announcing a Transgender Knitting & Ballroom Dancing Battalion stationed at Fort Hillary Clinton. It’s dangerous to all of us. You do not want to live in a country with a military that plays partisan identity politics. Just ask the people who survived the Tiananmen Square Massacre.  The Communist regime in Beijing couldn’t convince Chinese soldiers to fire on the Chinese college students who were staging pro-democracy protests in 1989. So, they sent in the Mongolian Reserves. They did open fire on the protesters. What did the Mongolians care? They weren’t related to any of the college students.
That’s what a partisan identity politics military is capable of.
This “Equity & Inclusion Agency” has me more spun up than anything else going on in American society right now. I wish I could stress to everyone just how dangerous this office is to the country. It would be better to go stand on the McCloskeys’ front lawn in St. Louis right now, brandishing a squirt gun and wearing an “All Lives Matter” T-shirt, than to live in a country in which the military has a partisan liberal “Equity & Inclusion Agency.” Your survival chances would be better on the McCloskeys’ front lawn.  If the Army is sending out messages that President Trump’s MAGA slogan is “covert white supremacy,” then we are done as a nation. We may as well just roll over for China right now, because we don’t actually have a functional military presence that can defend America. The US Army Equity & Inclusion Agency is toxic Democrat Party poison. It has absolutely no place in the American military. Trump should disband the entire agency and abolish it, and then let Kurt Schlichter’s old artillery unit use the building for artillery practice.

Commentary on the VIEW video

This is absolutely pathetic, I am surprised the  Socialist Democratic would
put this man in front of the American public as the Candidate for the
Presidency of the United States of America of America.
I had two parents who eventually died of Dementia, Yes it it a terrible thing,
Yes I have sympathy, but this is not right to parade Mr. Biden in front of
the people in this state and make a total foll out of him, it is embarrassing!.
The issue here folks, this is not going to get any better, they are set him up
for failure so others can step in and take over his presidency, this is why we
need to vote American Values and not Socialism, as we have no Idea whop
we are going to end up with, but it will not be good for the America we know,
it will be more of what you see in the streets in the democratic cities today.

America’s silent enemy

You’re being scammed by enemies of America who occupy powerful positions in government and the media. November 2020 is the way we, the people, can fight back. Know your enemy. Ditch the masks. Rise. #Covid911
You are here because they most likely deleted this on YouTube.
Follow my friend on Twitter: @sheepknowmore

Right now the country is being torn apart by the biggest political hoax and coordinated mass-media disinformation campaign in living history.
You may know it, as Covid19.

In 2015, as directed by the globalist criminal corruption network known as the Deep State, President Barack Obama authorized millions in funding for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the location now understood to be the epicenter of the Covid19 outbreak.  The research carried out here was to provide the agent for a global biological attack on a scale never before seen – one that would be timed for release within an election year – starting the very day unsubstantiated efforts to impeach President Trump fell apart.
With their base of operations in the Democrat establishment, the Deep State shadow corporation embarked on a coordinated irregular warfare insurgency, with multiple aims, all under the cover of a global pandemic they themselves manufactured for this purpose.  Enabled by their owned and controlled corporate media monopoly, they instigated a heavy-handed and unjustifiable nationwide shutdown to reverse Trump’s many economic and unemployment gains, with Democrat-controlled states suffering the harshest restrictions in the country.
Trump’s energetic rallies were halted, hiding from view the surging nationwide passion for his galvanizing message, while Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden was able to avoid interviews and debates where Left-leaning voters would not be shown his obvious inability to govern or the emerging Ukrainian bribery scandal that earned his family millions in illicit kickbacks by abusing his office.  As well as preventing further embarrassment to Biden due to his inability to lead, the pandemic also allowed the Biden campaign to deflect public attention from the damaging sexual assault allegations by Tara Reade.
The next major advantage of the pandemic for the Deep State was the case made to the public for mail-in voting, a highly insecure practice proven to be rampant with fraud, just as the public saw in one such example when a former Philadelphia judge pled guilty to stuffing ballot boxes after being paid by what he called a “Democrat political consultant”.  With a rapidly rising death toll needed to make the case to the public for even harsher control, normal influenza deaths for the year were recorded as Covid19, artificially inflating the numbers.

But this was only the beginning.

When this did not yield enough fatalities, the Deep State then initiated a murderous plan to defy federal guidelines and move infected patients into nursing homes where the highest risk age group could be found in large numbers.  Deep State governors of NY, NJ, CA, PA, and MI oversaw what can only be described as a genocide of our elderly loved ones even as the quickly constructed field hospitals and medically equipped Navy ships stood mostly empty.  This horrendous act cost the lives of over 50,000 people – but gave the insurgency a death toll that would stoke the public fear needed to push ahead with their goals.
In these dark times, when people had little else but the comfort of community and their faith, this too was forcibly halted when simply going to church was banned across the country under the guise of public safety.  Depression and loneliness became the new epidemic, all designed to create the social conditions needed for what was to come next in their despotic plan to fracture the nation and hold onto power.
Immediately upon reports of a flattening curve and a reduction in new cases, the mysterious murder of George Floyd hit the headlines.
What was presented to the public as a routine instance of racially motivated police brutality turned out to be a strange and coincidental series of events involving two men who once knew each-other working security in a night club.  This event provided the justification for the next chapter in their coordinated insurgency against the United States.
The goal was to to inflame civil unrest along racial lines on an emotional platform of social justice.
Black Lives Matter was funded and designed by the corrupt Democrat establishment as a social weapon to draw crowds of well-meaning protesters into harm’s way, using them as human shields while they pushed a savage insurrection on city streets.  After November they stand to lose it all but they will do everything to keep the crisis alive and the people in fear.

To win we must remember what made us strong so that true justice can finally return to what is and always will be the most exceptional Republic ever to exist in all of human history.

Biden leading the the polls. Who Are You Kidding! – We already know that FOX Poll is weighted 10 Points in favor of democrats, using a figure of 46% of democrat voters when they only had 36% show up at the polls in 2016. Most polls weight favor to Dems by 5-20 points. Plus, they do not poll likely voters only registered ones.

VIDEO: Biden leading the the polls. Who Are You Kidding!

Biden leading in the polls? Who are you kidding! We heard this before in the 2016 election.
President Donald Trump has a 91 per cent chance of winning the November 2020 election, according to a political science professor who has correctly predicted five out of six elections since 1996. “The Primary Model gives Trump a 91 percent chance of winning in November,” Stony Brook professor Helmut Norpoth told Mediaite on Tuesday. Mr Norpoth told the outlet that his model, which he curated in 1996, would have correctly predicted the outcome for 25 of the 27 elections since 1912, when primaries were introduced. I covered the rigged election system in my book below in a chapter titled “Free and Fair Elections”.
There are more people on line at the ladies room at a Trump rally than all in attendance at a Biden rally! Biden in the basement cannot get a cohesive sentence out of his mouth. He has spent 47 years in public office and his record shows that not only is he a bigot and a racist, and a creepy touchy-feely kind of guy (and I am being kind here), but he has been on the wrong side of history on nearly all issues of consequence to the American people.
The following link at marker 26:06 is an important discussion and analysis with Mark Adams on the rigged and false polling system. Oh yeah and in my opinion, Biden may not even be the nominee.
Continue to spread the truth and expose the lies on social media and in other circles of life. No mail in votes. Get to the polls and cast your vote for Donald J. Trump in November. No Trump-No hope.

No matter how many New York Times columnists try to craft Biden an image as “working class Joe” from Scranton, “a man who is not ideological,” the charade is unsustainable.

Miranda Devine: Biden-Sanders’ radical leftist
manifesto should be warning to voters

oe Biden signed the death warrant for his campaign last week, even if he doesn’t know it. The joint manifesto he released with Bernie Sanders is 110 pages of radical far-left policies — from a job-killing $2 trillion climate agenda to eliminating cash bail and dismantling border protection.
It betrays the working-class voters Biden claims to represent and destroys any pretense that he is a “moderate.”
As Sanders has boasted, Biden would be “the most progressive president since FDR.”
Well-meaning people might stick their fingers in their ears and vote for Biden out of nostalgia for a Democratic Party that no longer exists or out of exhaustion at the relentless anti-Trump barrage.  But with his “Unity Task Forces” document, Biden has proven only that he is an empty husk. Old Joe, who was for police and working people and law and order, is long gone. His body is there but, like his party, it has been invaded by the socialist left.
Under Biden’s manifesto, “Climate change is a global emergency” which requires “decarbonizing” American industries and eliminating carbon dioxide emissions to “net zero.”
It is the Green New Deal on steroids.
It will eliminate fossil fuel power by 2035, aka “commit to eliminating carbon pollution from power plants by 2035.”  Within five years, “we will install 500 million solar panels, including eight million solar roofs and community solar energy systems, and 60,000 made-in-America wind turbines.”  Note there’s no mention of “made-in-America” solar panels. The only way to install 500 million solar panels in five years is to buy them from China. In other countries, such as Australia, which have gone down this path, the result is cheap, shoddy solar systems that fall apart within five years.
Of course, we will have to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, and pay the Green Climate Fund, the United Nations slush fund which gives grants to China, even though China doesn’t contribute a cent.
Biden gives press little access
This is a straight transfer of American taxpayer funds to the Chinese Communist Party. Way to go, Joe.  Hilariously, the document claims this will all result in lower electricity bills.  It’s a fantasy. America’s prosperity has been built on cheap fossil fuel energy.  That will end with Biden’s plan. Where will baseload power come from when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow?  Almost two-thirds of our electricity comes from fossil fuels and the experience of countries such as Australia and Germany is that switching to wind and solar drives up the cost of electricity.
Take California, which has mandated zero emissions by 2045. Electricity prices there are 60 percent more, on average, than in the rest of the United States and rose five times faster between 2011 and 2017, according to a study by Environmental Progress.  Naturally, the nation’s most radical green groups are cock-a-hoop about the Biden-Sanders manifesto.
The word “union” appears 49 times in the document and “working families” 17 times, as Biden pretends that high-paying fossil fuel jobs and pensions in places such as Pennsylvania and Ohio will be magically transformed into new climate jobs, building wind turbines and electric cars and climate-retrofitting 4 million homes.
To pay for all this, Biden promises to increase taxes. At least he’s honest about it.
He’ll hike the top income-tax rate by almost two points and the corporate tax rate by seven points, undoing the engine that kickstarted Trump’s economy.  In other words, he plans to punish the wealth creators and redistribute their money to an ever-expanding class of supplicants. Not that it will be enough.  There’s a lot more to fear in the 50,000-word manifesto.
Biden will abandon school choice and eliminate or hobble charter schools. That fits with his comments in May to an MSNBC public education forum when he said, “Charter schools are gone.”  He will also “eliminate high-stakes standardized tests that unfairly label students.”
Crime, too, will follow the de Blasio model which has been so successful in driving up crime rates in New York.  “Eliminating the use of cash bail” tops the list, along with “decriminalize marijuana use.”  Biden’s campaign vehemently denies that he supports defunding the police. But in an interview with activist Ady Barkan on digital media site NowThis News last week he said, “Yes, absolutely,” when asked if “we can redirect some of the [police] funding?”

Redirecting “some” funding away from police is a euphemism for defunding police, at least partially.  It tells you he has common cause with the anti-cop wreckers. So does the fact a Biden campaign staffer derided police as worse than “pigs” in tweets which also used the hashtag #Defundpolice.

Biden speaks out of both sides of his mouth on fracking, too. He said during a debate in April that he would ban oil and gas fracking, which accounts for 10 million jobs and has catapulted America to the top world producer.  His campaign subsequently insisted he won’t touch fracking.  But his manifesto will ban fracking on “federal lands and waters.” The Institute for Energy Research says the policy will reduce revenues by $6 billion nationally over the next 15 years and eliminate 270,000 US jobs.
Just what we need in a pandemic-crippled economy.
The biggest clue to the destructive ideology that drives the Biden-Sanders manifesto is the word “equity,” which appears 34 times.
Equity means equality of outcome, not equality of opportunity. It is the very DNA of Marxism and everything bad flows from it, as we saw in the Soviet Union, Mao’s China, North Korea, Cuba and Venezuela.  This is not a path to electoral success. The Democrats are following the same road to oblivion as Australia’s Labor party and the UK’s Labour Party did last year, with similar agendas.  No matter how many New York Times columnists try to craft Biden an image as “working class Joe” from Scranton, “a man who is not ideological,” or dream up excuses for him not to debate President Trump, the charade is unsustainable.
At some point the mask will slip.

Democratic s History Of Killing Blacks for Being Republicans with the KKK, Jim Crow, Civil Rights. And today they try to convince Black Americans they are their friends!,

It is amazing that back in the late 1860’s and after the Civil War the Democrats used the KKK
to silence, intimidate or kill all Black Republican elected officials, which there were many of
back then, and today they use the same black people
that they tortured and terrorized in the
beginning to do the same things to Republicans today.

The Democrats and the KKK beat the Black population down so badly, that they were never
allowed to run as or vote for
Republicans ever again, for fear of their lives, and that same fear
seems to be deeply embedded in our Black Americans
Families to this day.

As the Democrats point their fingers at the Republicans and label us as Racist, White

False Hope and Real Damage of Coronavirus Lockdown

Life in these United States, and around the world, for that matter, have taken a turn for the worst.  Government forces at all levels have placed us into martial law by another name.  Your Constitutional Rights, we have been told, have been suspended for the time being in order for us to combat COVID-19.  But don’t worry, they assure us, the suspension of your rights is only temporary.

Where have we heard that before?
Ironically, we are experiencing an under-recording of the actual number of people who have been infected with the disease
In the name of science the powers-that-be have gone against science, shunning ideas like “herd immunity”, and instead have been dragging this thing out as long as they can with “shelter at home” orders, mandates requiring social distancing the wearing of face coverings, and the near complete shut down of businesses, and in reality, the entire economy.  The result has been devastating, both economically, and when it comes to individual liberty.

While the government officials and coronavirus experts are swearing up and down that lives have been saved by the implementation of stay at home orders, and that the way to finish off our trip down the “new-normal” rabbit hole is to lock down harder, the reality is that the benefits of the strategy still remain unproven, and the myriad of negative consequences are beginning to stack up pretty high.

Evidence has been piling up telling us that the coronavirus statistics are not only far from accurate, but that numbers are being padded by various means.  Different countries record deaths differently.  Presumption or even ignorance has driven many deaths to being counted as COVID-19 related when they are not, and even greed has kicked into play as American hospitals receive monetary benefits for each death certificate claiming a coronavirus connection, without proof, without evidence, without accompanying paperwork showing the connection, and often without even testing the patient to ensure they were positive with the virus in the first place.  Simply saying “yes” to the COVID-19 question has become much more lucrative than honesty.

Medical personnel in America and European countries are being told to put COVID-19 as the cause of death even if their evidence is that they simply suspected the person had it, test or no test.  It is an understatement to say that we are experiencing an over-recording of COVID-19 deaths.

Ironically, we are experiencing an under-recording of the actual number of people who have been infected with the disease.  The latter strategy of under-recording cases, however, is politically necessary in order to hide how mild the disease truly is, and how high the percentage is when it comes to people being asymptomatic and not even realizing they had contracted it because of the mildness of their symptoms.

What about deaths from things other than COVID-19?

I wonder if we will ever know the true statistics, both regarding deaths, and the number of infections.

We do know that deaths related to COVID-19 are almost always elderly people, and that if you are under 60 the chances of you dying from it is practically a statistical zero, as is the chance that you would be symptomatic.  Of the non-elderly cases of death, there are two categories; those who had underlying health issues already, and those who have been falsely listed as dying from the coronavirus.

The statistics not being taken, accurately or not, are those deaths that have occurred from other things, and may have been, or definitely has been, as a result of the lock-down policies in place to save us from the allegedly deadly virus.  Elective surgeries have been postponed to make room in the hospitals for the flood of coronavirus cases that were expected, and never came, which also increases the misery index for folks.  How many people are in pain from their hernia, or other affliction in need of an elective surgery, but have to wait because everyone is too afraid of leaving less room for the coronavirus patients who never arrived?

What about deaths from things other than COVID-19?  How many of those are taking place without us noticing, or as a result of the policies associated with the Chinese Wuhan novel coronavirus?  Are more people dying at home because they are afraid they will be bothering doctors who, we are being told, are up to their necks in COVID-19 cases?  What about the statistics that are showing a steep rise in domestic violence during the stay at home orders?  I have read cases of depression have tripled, and according to some hospitals suicides are up four times the normal rate.

In our fear of overwhelming hospitals, have we left a certain part of the public hung out to dry and in pain?

Friends of mine who are in the nursing industry have told me their hospitals are between a quarter full and a third of capacity.  Members of the hospital staff are standing around with nothing to do.  In some States the hospitals are hustling and bustling, but that’s because to make the numbers look better the politicians are flying in illegal aliens who are coronavirus positive caught on this side of the border to fill the beds.  One nurse I talked to told me that in almost all cases these people are either asymptomatic, or have mild symptoms.  The real danger, she said to me, lies in the fact that because they were just shipped in without any medical records or medical history attached to them, it is very dangerous to treat them because medical personnel don’t know what they may be allergic to, or what medicines they may already have in their system.  Not knowing someone’s medical history can kill them.

Media is spinning the false narrative

And, in what world of medical science does it makes sense to move a patient who is infectious?

Meanwhile, the media is spinning the false narrative that we’ve never been so pressed against the wall in the history of medicine, and there isn’t an empty hospital bed to be found anywhere.

Is this something that is simply an overreaction, or are their other forces and tactics at work here?  One wonders if this is merely an attempt to position us for another political warfare battlefield fast approaching from another direction.

In just about every country the average age of death from COVID-19 is over 80.  Then, armed with this knowledge, governors and other idiot politicians began throwing these COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes with a bunch of other “over-80” folks who didn’t have the disease.  If that age group has emerged as the most vulnerable when it comes to the coronavirus, why did they throw infected patients into the stew with them at their care facilities?

Why would they do such a thing, and how is it that some people were actually surprised when the statistic saying that the nursing home deaths were incredibly high surfaced?

The elderly, on paper, were throw-away patients to the leftists running this whole thing, so they tossed them into a big bowl together, stirred and tossed them like a garden salad, and in the end didn’t care what came out of it because they are going to die soon, anyway, and besides, those old folks tend to vote conservative.  All the establishment and leftist politicians and their allies cared about was clearing out the hospitals to make room for the massive flood of patients who were younger in age.

Our governments are spending massive amounts of money they don’t have on flawed policies

For anyone under 60 the mortality rate is so low you have a better chance to be struck by lightning, die from the seasonal flu or the common cold, or die in a car accident.  Yet, we locked all of those people down.  Even younger folks with underlying health issues have a very low death rate.  But, we locked them all down.  Where is the science that says it is smart to lock down the healthy, and those who are most likely not going to be affected by the virus?  We have locked down a population that has virtually zero risk of having problems with COVID-19, have them scared to death of the virus to the point that they are unhealthily wearing face masks a large portion of the day, and then we spread the disease wildly in nursing homes among those in the most vulnerable age group. How does that make any sense?

As a result, damage has been caused not only when it comes to deaths resulting from the policies regarding the virus, rather than from the virus, but also devastating damage to an economy that was roaring, and to small business owners who simply can’t survive shutting down their means of survival.

Our governments are spending massive amounts of money they don’t have on flawed policies, and our economies are losing a massive amount of momentum on these flawed policies.  Politicians tell us that the damage is worth it in order to save a handful of lives, yet we are losing other lives as a result of the policies, and it is highly possible that latter number is higher.  Others may tell you that they were simply following orders, doing what they were told, or at least doing what they believe is in line with policies set by their superiors.

They would have made good troops for dictators in the last century.  You know, like the Nazi officials did eighty years ago when they said they were simply following orders, or like the communist officials did in the last century when they claimed they were simply carrying out orders.

And, as a result, people are dying, and economic hope for the future is vanishing.

Sweden and Japan decided not to take the route we took, and they claim their number of deaths are very low.

How many deaths may we expect from the coming economic problems on the horizon?

How many deaths may we expect from the coming economic problems on the horizon?  In Russia, after the Berlin Wall came down, it is believed five million deaths occurred simply as a result of the economic upheaval from that time period.  Are we going to see those kinds of numbers as a result of the economic difficulties caused by the lockdown orders in our modern world?  And if so, at what point do we realize the lockdown orders were more devastating than the virus could ever have been?

Some countries in the world, if they follow our lead when it comes to coronavirus policies, may literally obliterate themselves, and never recover.  How is that good for the nations who survive? How well will the surviving nations do afterward?  Or will they, too, wind up like a third world country unable to get the spinning wheel of their economy going again?

I’ve heard stories of patients who stopped receiving care and they died as a result, because facilities were trying to make room for the COVID-19 cases that never arrived.  Weren’t their lives worth saving?  The treatments of some of these patients that is being stopped in the name of making room for coronavirus patients gave these people hope, and gave them comfort as they suffered in pain.  Now, they are dying because their treatments are being postponed.  Is that our new policy going forward?  Unless you have the virus we don’t care if you are in pain or die?

The population bomb radicals have got to be pretty happy about that.

What has the cost to the health industry been?  Are those numbers being ignored, too?  We are told we are cold and heartless if we don’t agree with the coronavirus policies, but aren’t we being cold and heartless to another segment of the population if we do?  At what point will we realize that the coronavirus policies have done more damage than good?  Or will we even admit that as a possibility?

What does any of that matter if we destroy the economy, and everyone dies as a result?

Better safe than sorry, I am told.
At what cost?
How many people have to die as a result of the cure before we are unwilling to admit that the lockdown policies were wrong, and caused more damage than the virus ever could have?

Today, I will not answer the radio call that your boyfriend has come home drunk and is beating you again.

Today, I will not answer the radio call that your 16 year-old daughter, who is very responsible, is four hours late coming home from school.

Today, I will not answer the radio call that your store has been robbed or your house has been burglarized.

Today, I will not stop a drunk driver from killing someone. I will not catch a rapist or a murderer or a car thief.

Today, I will not answer the radio call that a man has a gun or tried to abduct a child or that someone has been stabbed or has been in a terrible accident.

Today, I will not save your child that you locked in a car, or the child you were too busy to watch who went outside and fell into the swimming pool, but that
I revived.

No, today I will not do that.

Today, I was suspended from duty for doing my job, because the media, leftists, community organizers, and a mayor who ran on an anti-police agenda — all who
know nothing about policing — have vilified my profession.

Because . . .

Today, I was killed by a drunk driver while I was helping push a disabled car off the highway.

Today, I was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop to simply tell someone that they had a taillight out.

Today, I was killed in a traffic accident rushing to help a citizen.

Today, I was shot and killed serving a warrant on a known drug dealer.

Today, I was killed by a man when I came by to do a welfare check because his family was too busy.

Today, I was killed trying to stop a bank robbery or a grocery store robbery.

Today I was killed doing my job.

A chaplain and an officer will go to a house and tell a mom and dad or a wife or husband or a child that their son or daughter or husband or wife or father
or mother won’t be coming home today.

The flags at many police stations will be flown at half-mast today but most people won’t know why.

There will be a funeral and my fellow officers will come, a 21-gun salute will be given, and taps and bagpipes will be played as I am laid to rest.

My name will be put on a plaque, on a wall, in a building, in a city somewhere.

A folded flag will be placed on a mantel or a bookcase in a home somewhere and a family will mourn.

There will be no cries for justice.

There will be no riots in the streets.

There will be no officers marching, screaming “no justice, no peace.”

No citizens will scream that something must be done.

No windows will be smashed, no cars burned, no stones thrown, no names called.

Only someone crying themselves to sleep tonight will be the only sign that I was cared about.

BLM Darkest Secret Revealed—The MSM Won’t Say It Because They Know The Protestors Will Run!

Trump counting on a ‘silent majority’ that
may never be heard

President Trump is staking his reelection on a “silent majority” of people who he believes will rally to him as the last line of defense against urban lawlessness and attacks on national symbols. But the silent majority may not translate into either a popular vote or an electoral majority, Republican strategists increasingly fear.
“Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities,” Trump said in his Fourth of July celebration remarks at Mount Rushmore. Zeroing in on both the cultural conflicts and traditional “law-and-order” themes, Trump declared, “The American people are strong and proud, and they will not allow our country and all of its values, history, and culture, to be taken from them.”
Trump tweeted last month: “THE VAST SILENT MAJORITY IS ALIVE AND WELL!!! We will win this Election big.” At his June 20 Tulsa rally, Trump decried an “unhinged left-wing mob” but vowed, “the silent majority is stronger than ever before.”
The phrase is borrowed from Richard Nixon, who was elected president in 1968 during a similar period of unrest. While accepting the Republican nomination, he celebrated “the great majority of Americans, the forgotten Americans, the non-shouters, the non-demonstrators.” He added, “They’re not racist or sick, they’re not guilty of the crime that plagues the land. They are good people; they are decent people. They work hard, and they save, and they pay their taxes, and they care.”
This is similar to how Trump describes the MAGA base. His backers also frequently talk about “hidden voters” who exist undetected by pollsters and aided his unexpected 2016 win.
Still, recent polling shows Trump far from the 49-state landslide reelection Nixon won in 1972. The current president’s numbers have gotten worse since the George Floyd protests began, suggesting the silent majority is even quieter than it was before — or no longer a majority.
“There was never a silent majority for Trump in 2016, so the idea that it is something other than an homage to Nixon’s message from the ‘70s is silly,” said Republican strategist Nicholas Everhart. “There were an enormous number of disaffected partisan voters that stayed home or voted for third parties in industrial Midwest states that had been in the Democrat column for decades, coupled with Hillary Clinton ostensibly playing the role of ‘incumbent’ upon which a referendum was being decided. She lost the referendum, and Trump embodied change, but it wasn’t a silent majority … it was just a majority in just enough states to thread the needle.”
A Monmouth University poll released Wednesday found that 77% of adults understood “defund the police” to mean “change the way the police departments operate,” compared to only 18% who believed it meant their abolition, suggesting that Trump’s messaging on this particular issue isn’t getting through. More broadly, violent protests and even an uptick in shootings don’t seem to have dented sympathy for those demonstrating on behalf of Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes. Yet neither has Trump mollified voters looking for order to be restored.
“He’s talking about a ‘silent majority’ when he should be saying, ‘I will be your voice’ — his best line from the 2016 campaign,” said veteran Republican consultant Frank Luntz. “He should be personalizing his messaging instead of making blanket statements about society. The silent majority was a strategy, not an applause line.”
Trump is presently trailing Joe Biden, his Democratic challenger, by 8.7 points in the national RealClearPolitics polling average.
“The president is in trouble, and it’s a toxic political environment right now, period,” said Everhart. “Unless you worked in [Democratic wave election year] 2006, you’ve got no idea how thin the ice is right now.”

Lawsuit Filed to Stop GOP Convention

Lawsuit Filed to Stop GOP Convention

AAN Staff
A lawsuit on behalf of multiple Jacksonville business owners has an ambitious goal: stop the Trump campaign and RNC from holding its 2020 convention.
They argue that the mass gathering will be detrimental to Jacksonville’s 820,000 residents’ health amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Hot Air’s Karen Townsend reports on the status of the suit:

Some of the wording here is sounding pretty familiar, especially if you have watched the drama with the Republican Party of Texas’ state convention in Houston. Yesterday I updated my latest post on it to include the news that Mayor Sylvester has, in fact, canceled the convention. He cites a “clear and present danger to the health and well-being of convention attendees, workers, local hotel and restaurant owners and Houstonians”. The term “force majeure” is used. A clause in the contract allows one side to cancel for an occurrence out of its control. The definition included “epidemics in the City of Houston.” The lawsuit in Jacksonville states the convention will “constitute a nuisance.”

A Jacksonville attorney asked a judge Wednesday to require the GOP convention shrink to a smaller size with face masks and social distancing in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The convention is planned for Aug. 24-27 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The arena holds 15,000 people though that amount of people are not expected to attend the convention. The lawsuit was filed in circuit court. Also cited is the fact that the arena is near a neighborhood with Black and older residents – those most at risk for the coronavirus.

The lawsuit wants the convention to be canceled. If not canceled, then the convention should not be bigger than 2,500 people. During a news conference on Tuesday, Mayor Lenny Curry told reporters that Gov. Ron DeSantis’s executive orders limit all venues like the arena to 50 percent occupancy limit. It is not clear if that restriction will be in place in August. As in Texas, the coronavirus is spiking in Florida right now.

Many lawmakers, including Senators Grassley, Mitt Romney, Lamar Alexander, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski have already declared they will not attend the convention, most due to health concerns. President Trump, during an interview with Greta Van Susteren, said he would consider a smaller convention as an acceptable compromise for holding the convention in Florida. He acknowledged it depends on the status of the coronavirus outbreak. Trump is expected to accept the party’s nomination in Jacksonville. He said the GOP is “flexible.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis compares schools to essential business and is confident they can open in the fall.

DeSantis wants to speed up COVID testing
in Broward, Miami-Dade, and says schools
need to open

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis compares schools to essential business and is confident they can open in the fall.
JACKSONVILLE — Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday he is asking the federal government for more medicine and will create designated drive-through lanes at testing sites in Broward and Miami-Dade counties for people with coronavirus symptoms to speed up results.
DeSantis also said Florida schools need to reopen as soon as possible.
“We spent months saying that there were certain things that were essential, and that included fast food restaurants, it included Walmart, it included Home Depot,” the governor said at a news conference in Jacksonville with U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia. “But if all that is essential, than educating our kids is absolutely essential. … If you can do these things, we absolutely can do the schools.”
DeSantis said designated testing lanes for Broward, Miami-Dade and Orange, three of the counties with the highest volume of testing, are needed because the turnaround on results has been slower than he expected.
“I think at the end of March, we were like 100,000 [tests] a day, maybe somewhere in that range as a country,” DeSantis said. “Now we’re at 650,000 and we may even hit 700,000 tests in a day. The problem with that has been the lab turnaround is just getting backed up.”
The governor said the state will try to get contracts with labs that can turn around results in 48 to 72 hours
“When the tests are taking a long time to get turned around, if you’re asymptomatic, what are you supposed to do?” he said. ”Stay home and wait? … Then if you’re symptomatic, obviously, you need to know whether you have coronavirus or you have something else.”
