John Nelson COMMENT:
REMEMBER! It is the Grassroots who have spearheaded almost all of the last National elections from 2010 to 2016!  It has been our ground pounding door knocking, phone banks, (with cooperation of AFP) and media efforts (E-mails, Phone Calls, and most important today Twitter ), that  made a change, We need to fire it up for 2018 – 2020 if we are to maintain control of all branches of our government in order to clean out the socialist mess created by the Obama Administration, and the Democratic Socialist of America, (Finish Draining the Swamp) and get our Nation back on it’s Constitutionally created direction!.

1. Thank Republican Congresspersons and POTUS Trump for passing  the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:  If you have a Democrat Rep or Senator(s) let them know you are unhappy that every one of them voted against this new law.  Send a note of congratulations or anything else you want President to know at the following website www.Whitehouse.gov

Note that the website has changed….first go all way to bottom of the page and click on the “get involved” link.  Two boxes will come up; in the 2nd or Blue Box, “Write the President” click on  “Learn More”.   On right side 2nd para under  Write the President click on the lighted link “email us”  A brown box will come up under for you to fill in your info (required items marked with a blue asterick) and  write your comments in “what would you like to say” and then click on “send”.

2.  Enforce Spending cuts Tell lawmakers to oppose a bad budget deal. With the January 19 deadline looming, Congress should not bust the spending caps, but instead establish one discretionary spending cap and fully offset any increase in federal spending with spending cuts or reforms.

 3.  Re Immigration Reform-  Support President Trump’s efforts to end DACA, eliminate the diversity visa program, end family-based chain migration, oppose bipartisan efforts to pass amnesty and pass the RAISE Act – bipartisan efforts are underway to pass amnesty —  on a January spending package. Congress should secure our borders and reform legal immigration prior to addressing DACA.  Supporting Link:

 4. Oppose any Effort to Bailout Obamacare – including the Alexander-Murray proposal and support President Trump’s decision to end the illegal cost share reduction (CSR) payments to insurance companies and include the individual mandate repeal in tax reform-supporting link- http://heritageaction.com/2017/08/no_more_obamacare_bailouts/

5.  Demand accountability for the Congressional “Shush Fund” – Demand to know an accounting of how much taxpayer funds were spent defending Congresspersons for sexual deviancy and which ones were defended?

Legislative Watch List:

1.  Co-Sponsor  the Higher Education Reform and Opportunity (HERO) Act (H.R. 4274). Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) introduced this legislation to empower states with the option to develop their own systems of accrediting colleges and universities, individual courses and curricula, and apprenticeship programs. The HERO Act would decouple federal financing from accreditation so that federal dollars follow the student, not the institution, unleashing new and innovative approaches to higher education in the 21st Century economy. 2.  Support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Reform Act of 2017 (H.R. 2996) –This legislation requires able bodied adults to be engaged in some sort of work or work activity in order to receive welfare benefits.   Following is a Link to a SNAP Toolkit which has sample call script and sample tweets:     http://heritageaction.com/ 2017/07/snap-activism-toolkit/   Sentinel brief: http://heritageaction.com/2017/06/welfare-reform-work-requirements-food-stamps/

3.  Support Employee Rights Act (H.R. 2723 & S. 1774): This legislation fights labor bosses protecting workers from union pressure by putting power back in the hands of employees and making union leaders more accountable to their members. This  legislation would guarantee employees the rights to vote privately in a secret ballot election before forming a union and opt out of having their personal contact information provided to a union during an organizing drive.  See  link https://heritageaction.com/2017/07/employee-rights-act-era-toolkit/

 4.   Oppose H. Res. 257 and SR 118 drafted by 2 Muslim Brotherhood members.  Should this become law, it would condemn hate speech of any form encroaching upon our 1A rights and fits right in with Islamic Blasphemy laws in Sharia.

5.  Support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to protect women and unborn children from gruesome late-term abortions performed after 20 weeks by co-sponsoring the senate bill.

See link  http://heritageaction.com/key-votes/yes-pain-capable-unborn-child-protection-act-h-r-36/

 Other Actions of Note:

1.  Ask your Senator & McConnell – what happened to repeal of economy crippling Dodd Frank law?
Another Obama swamp monster has been roped in as a  Federal Judge ruled in President Trumps favor to appoint CBO Head Mick Mulvaney to temporarily lead the Dodd Frank created Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which will reveal  CFPB has been doling out $ to leftist organizations obtained from fines and the Federal Reserve.

2. Continue BOYCOTTING NFL games & their Sponsors as long as players continue to insult our national symbols, veterans & LE.  All Patriotic Americans who love the USA, please continue your stand against the NFL’s ridiculous protests of the National Anthem, our Flag and Law Enforcement based on their false notions of being “oppressed.”  Painful as it may be-make a vow not to watch Playoffs or Super Bowl. Cowardly NFL Commissioner Roger As “warriors for social justice,”  they are supporting the leftist concept of progressive Community Organizing including reduced sentencing for non-violent drug offenders .  In another slap in our face, NFL owners renewed Goodell’s Contract for another 5 years including a $10M raise (from $30 to $40 M)

For a great website listing all of President Trumps accomplishments in 2017 go to www.magapill.com  Even leftists are admitting he has accomplished more than any other President in his first yr in office.
Those who live in Highlands, Hardee, Okeechobee, Desoto and surrounding counties in FL, You are welcome to attend The Highlands Tea Party meetings when you can.   Meetings are every Tuesday Night  6:00 PM – 8:00 PM  at Homers Smorgasboard 1100 Sebring Square. corner of U.S. 27 & Sebring Parkway. NO BIG DEAL WHEN BILL CLINTON LOST NUCLEAR CODES, BUT LEFT GOES BONKERS OVER TRUMPS TWEETS!

Comment by Col. Royal Brown III (Retired):

Idiot leftists in media & Democrats take everything POTUS Trump Tweets or says “literally” and it is driving them nuts (not that they weren’t crazy to begin with) – we should all encourage him to continue Tweeting as he speaks for the common man not for the ruling class, establishment DC types both RINO & Democrat & totally leftist mainstream media !

Fun to watch them – they are running on pure HATE for our President and his supporters and it is backfiring on them big time !
Leftists are totally humorless !!!

Bill Clinton once lost the nuclear codes for months, and
a ‘comedy of errors’ kept anyone from finding out

The process the president has to go through to launch the US’s nuclear weapons isn’t as simple as pressing a button, but the key component of that process — the codes needed to authorize the launch — are never far from the president.
At least they’re never supposed to be.
According to Gen. Hugh Shelton, who was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 1997 to September 2001, the number of redundancies in the nuclear-launch process “is staggering.” All of steps are “dependent on one vital element without which there can be no launch,” he wrote in his 2010 autobiography, “Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior.”
That element, the president’s authorization codes, is supposed to remain in close proximity to the president at all times, carried by one of five military aides, representing each branch of the military. The codes are on a card called the “biscuit” carried within the “football,” a briefcase that is officially known as the “president’s emergency satchel.”
However, around 2000, according to Shelton, a member of the department within the Pentagon that is responsible for all pieces of the nuclear process was dispatched to the White House to physically look at the codes and ensure they were correct — a procedure required to happen every 30 days. (The set of codes was to be replaced entirely every four months.)
That official was told by a presidential aide that President Bill Clinton did have the codes, but was in an important meeting and could not be disturbed.  The aide assured the official that Clinton took the codes seriously and had them close by. The official was dismayed, but he accepted the excuse and left.  When the next inspection took place the following month, that official was on vacation, according to Shelton, and another official was dispatched to the White House. The new official was met with the same excuse — the president is very busy, but takes the codes very seriously and has them on hand.
“This comedy of errors went on, without President Clinton’s knowledge I’m sure, until it was finally time to collect the current set and replace them with the new edition,” Shelton writes.  “At this point we learned that the aide had no idea where the old ones were, because they had been missing for months,” he added. “The President never did have them, but he assumed, I’m sure, that the aide had them like he was supposed to.”
Shelton and then-Secretary of Defense William Cohen were alarmed. While the problem of missing codes had been resolved by changing the codes, they quickly acted to change the process itself, mandating that the Defense Department official visiting the White House physically see the codes — waiting there until they can do so if necessary.  Shelton and Cohen feared the saga would reach the press and become an embarrassing story. But word of the missing codes never made it out, and Shelton’s recounting of it in his 2010 book was, to his knowledge, the first time it had been shared publicly.
“This is a big deal — a gargantuan deal — and we dodged a silver bullet,” Shelton writes, adding: “You do whatever you can and think you have an infallible system, but somehow someone always seems to find a way to screw it up.”
